About Alex Skinner

Born and raised in and around Brighton, Alex has grown up with a love of Music, Dance and the Arts. From an early age she was successful in local Arts Festivals and competitions, qualifying for All England and Blackpool Finals on numerous occasions.

Whilst pursuing her love of performing, Alex became involved in assisting in dance classes and before long she was co-ordinating shows and entering her own pupils for competitions. She is now a Licenciate with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in Disco/Freestyle and an Associate in Ballroom Dancing, and continues her professional training under the likes of Suzanne Hammond, Anne Lingard and Simon Cruwys.

Alex is an active member of the ISTD and regularly attends Teachers’ Congresses. She has also given Lectures for the Society and plans to one day move into examining and adjudicating alongside her teaching.

Alex is a firm believer that dancing is for everyone, and that each student should be treated as an individual, with their own unique contribution to the school.
