At East Sussex Dance, we believe that is that dancing is for everyone; that each student should be treated as an individual with their own unique contribution to the school.

Alex Skinner LISTD, AISTD

Born and raised in and around Brighton, Alex has grown up with a love of Music, Dance and the Arts. From an early age she was successful in local Arts Festivals and competitions, qualifying for All England and Blackpool Finals on numerous occasions.

In 2009 Alex founded East Sussex Dance, whilst continuing to further her own teaching qualifications. She is now a triple Licenciate with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and has lectured for the Society in three faculties. Alex aims to become an examiner one day, however introducing new beginners to the world of dance remains her number one passion.

Marcus Edwards, AISTD

Marcus stumbled into his first dance class at the age of 18 and quickly caught the bug. His natural talent and enthusiasm for dance were soon realised and he threw himself into the dance school, seizing any opportunity to learn more or simply to assist younger students. He decided to study for his teaching exams and has recently joined the ISTD as an Associate.

Marcus is heavily involved in preparing students for competitions and medal tests, and he plans to further his own dancing by competing at a professional level.

Judy Breen, ARBTA

An accredited professional, Judy Breen studied in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the Vaganova Academy. She has been teaching for 32 years and has an Advanced Teaching Certificate from the Association of Russian Ballet and Theatre Arts. Judy has placed graduates into the Kirov Academy, Bolshoi School, Royal Ballet School and English National Ballet School. Former students, personally trained by Judy, have gone on to join international companies including Mariinsky (Kirov) Ballet, Universal Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and Zurich Ballet.
